On August 25, led by Ali Waheed, vice president of China-Maldives cultural exchange association, a delegation of 14 from republic of Maldives visited SVU. The exchange meeting was presided over by Tang Xiaojun, deputy director of the president's office. Zhen Hao from the foreign affairs office and 11 students from the school of foreign languages and the school of mechanical and electrical engineering participated in the exchange meeting.

The youth delegation first visited the Wu culture park. The multi-functional layout, display items and the application of multimedia technology in the park all impressed Maldivian friends. The introduction by Tao Li from the school of management and the interpretation by Zhen Hao also made them feel the characteristics and subtlety of Wu culture. The exchange meeting was held in Shihu academy. Tang Xiaojun introduced the history of the university and characteristics of international education, and illustrated the good features of the international activities of college students' active voluntary service. In the following, the Chinese and Malaysian university students had a warm exchange with laughter now and them. Vice President Ali and the teachers of our university also answered the questions raised by the students from both sides.

Male and Suzhou became sister cities in 2016. In order to strengthen exchanges between friendly cities and enhance the friendship between the youth of the two cities, the Chinese embassy in Maldives and the China-Maldives cultural exchange association have organized a youth delegation from male to visit China for exchanges. This activity is the first stop arranged by the foreign affairs office of Suzhou municipal people's government.
